Ethics Committee to issue three new opinions

1.  whether, after a neglect petition has been filed,  counsel for parents may contact a DCF social worker assigned to the case when the assistant attorney general representing DCF in the matter has instructed her not to;

2. whether a lawyer who has obtained a judgment against a former client for unpaid legal fees, may report the judgement to a credit bureau; and

3. whether a lawyer, who has retired, may destroy client files more than ten years old.

The opinions will be posted as soon as they are released.
