Waiting to be called: some musings about jury duty by a professional dancer

Kellie Ann Lynch is a professional dancer who has one foot in New York’s  professional dance community, but who, for professional and personal reasons, has chosen New Haven as a base from which to pursue her dance career, which she does with astonishing creativity, energy and resilience. Among other things Kellie is a founding member and co-artistic director of the Elm City Dance Collective.  Recently she was summoned to jury duty where, as is so often the case, she waited to be called.  Waiting – sitting still – is not something that comes naturally to superbly conditioned, highly trained and talented dancers, who, after all, move for a living and who live to move.  Click here for a glimpse through Kellie’s eyes of what it was like to wait to be called.
